Celebrating Christmas with Family 2023 |

This year we were fortunate enough to have both our Singh Family and my brother and sister over for Christmas Dinner. After unwrapping the gifts under the tree, we spend some time reminiscing about the past year and getting ready for the big turkey dinner that Marie was preparing.

Mia and Her 12th Birthday Party |

This year was very special for Mia. She celebrated her last birthday as a non-teen. To make this a special day for her we took her to her favorite restaurant - the Keg. We had a great steak dinner and Mia had a surprise ice cream cake that she shared with the whole family.

Karen and Eileen and their Two Canine Kids took a drive to Owen Sound in October 2023. While they were here we did a short road trip to the Blue Mountain Resort where we enjoyed lunch at the Northwinds Micro-Brewery and Pub.

Heidi & Mia Singh - the only grandchildren I've ever known |

Since moving next door five years ago Mia, Heidi and their mother Cara have become an important part of our lives. They have adopted Marie and I as their grandparents. You can usually find them over at our house on most days and occasionally they are here for a sleepover and an early morning pancake breakfast. As you can see in these photos they bring us hours of joy.

One cold and snowy afternoon.in January we decided to go out for a Sunday lunch. After a short discussion we agreed to try a local restaurant on highway six on the road to Chatsworth. We often noticed that this restaurant, “Kettles Back Home Cooking” which is commonly referred to simply as “Kettles”, always had a full parking lot every time we passed by on our way home from the GTA.

My Milestone Birthday Celebrations |

2019 was a milestone birthday - the BIG Seven Oh. This was also the first year that I had two birthday parties. The first was at Strathroy hosted by my brother Mike and his wife Susan. My cousin Karen and her husband Don and Pattyanne attended This party was a surprise in that it was integrated with our annual "Reunion of Cousins" celebration that was scheduled for August.

Our Many Family Christmas Dinners |

This year we were fortunate to have three Christmas dinners. The first occurred early December in Ottawa when we visited Brian and Joanna in their new home. As you can see in the photo at the bottom of the page Brian prepared a 'Beer Chicken' for us where the chicken sat on a can of good Keith's beer. This was our first experience with 'Beer Chicken'. It was really delicious and the company was awesome.

Marie’s Grandsons Visit Us in Owen Sound |

We thought it would be a good idea to bring Marie's grandchildren to Owen Sound from Halifax. At the time Cameron was 13, Nolan was 11 and Evan had just turned 10. Before they came we gave them a list of five activities that we could do and ask them to choose two. Their challenge was to reach a consensus through discussion which we thought would be difficult for three brothers.

Our Big Family Reunions in Owen Sound |

In 2016 we lost the second cousin of my generation, Wayne Woyce. We lost Wayne's sister, Sharon several years ago. Wayne's unexpected death prompted me to gather the remaining cousins for a backyard Bar-B-Que in Owen Sound in June of that year. There are only seven of us left so with spouses it makes a manageable group. I also decided to invite Wayne's children, who also live in Owen Sound.

Brian Makes His First Visit to Owen Sound Since Childhood |

During the summer of 2017 Brian came to Owen Sound for a visit. This was his first visit to Owen Sound since he was five years old visiting his grandparents. Marie and I showed him around the city to show him what he didn’t see during his last visit. We spent time showing him Inglis Falls and walking in Harrison Park.

A Camping and Fishing Trip with Robyn at Grundy Lake |

Shortly after moving to Owen Sound Robyn and I decide to go camping in Grundy Lake. It was an awesome experience. We went hiking through the park and fished in the lake. We spent five days camping in my Insta-Tent and cooking outdoors. As you can see from the photos Robyn caught a fish and very much enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with just me and her.
